Healthy Relationship Opportunities

Marriage Retreat
January 23 - 24, 2009

The Healthy Relationships retreat will present guest speakers, Dr. Greg Smalley and his wife Erin. (bio) 

Registration now open for married and seriously dating or engaged couples.

INFORMATION:
Place:   MCM Elegante Suites, 4250 Ridgemont Dr., Abilene
When:   Friday evening, Jan.23 - Saturday, Jan.24
Cost:    $65 married couples (includes overnight Suite at the Elegante)
            $35 dating/engaged couples (overnight stay not included)

Our Commitment: 

-Provide you with an excellent retreat weekend.
-Provide you with excellent speakers.
-Arrange a quality dinner on Friday evening & an excellent lunch on Saturday.
-An opportunity to grow, learn, and develop healthy relationships.

Your Commitment:

-Participate in a pre and post assessment
-Participate and commit to attending the Friday-Saturday workshops
-Participate and commit to attending the 1.5-hour followup session either:
            March 19 (Thurs) or March 23 (Monday)
-Pay the appropriate fees

Sacred Relationships Week (SRW) is a time dedicated to evaluate all of our relationships and to encourage and engage healthy interactions, with a Christ-centered heart.

Dr. Greg and Mrs. Erin Smalley

BIOGRAPHY: 

Greg Smalley, Psy.D., Erin Smalley, BSN, MS 

Dr. Greg and Erin Smalley have been married for 16 years and have two daughters, Taylor and Maddy, and a son, Garrison. The Smalley's live in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. 

Erin Smalley earned her Bachelor degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. She worked for eight years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse and still maintains her nursing license. Erin earned her Master’s degree in counseling psychology from Evangel University in Springfield, MO. Erin’s passion is both for helping married couples build a marriage they’ve always dreamed of and for helping females build healthy, grown-up friendships with other women. Erin and Carrie Oliver have written a book for building healthy female friendships published in 2007.  

Dr. Greg Smalley earned his doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University in Southern California.  He also holds two masters degrees.  One is in counseling psychology from Denver Seminary and one is in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology.   

Dr. Smalley is the director of Marriage Ministries for The Center for Relationship Enrichment on the campus of John Brown University. He is also an assistant professor of marriage and family studies at John Brown University.  

Dr. Smalley is the founder and board member of the National Institute of Marriage, a marriage ministry located in Branson, Missouri. 

Dr. Smalley specializes in working with couples in crisis or on the brink of divorce.  Dr. Smalley also helps lead marriage seminars around the world and helps train pastors, professionals and lay leaders how to effectively work with married couples. 

He has appeared on both television and radio programs, including Focus on the Family and Hour of Power. He is the author or co-author of eight books including The DNA of Relationships for Couples, The Marriage You've Always Dreamed Of, The DNA of Relationships, The DNA of Parent and Teen Relationships, Men’s Relational Toolbox, Life Lines: Communicating with Your Teen, Winning Your Wife Back, and Winning Your Husband Back.
