Group Therapy

The Counseling Center offers a variety of weekly therapy groups during the semester. Groups are open to all registered students; there is no fee for participation in a group. Interested students should call Counseling Center at 325-674-2626 or email counseling@acu.edu. Below is a list of groups that are available.

EQ Group: Resiliency and Well-Being

A group aimed at increasing one's awareness of themselves and their environment so that emotional and relational balance can be furthered. 

Topics covered are balance, awareness, emotional well-being, mood issues, stress management, communication and relational skills, decision making skills, and overall life management issues.

Semester:  Fall and Spring Semesters

Time: Thursdays from 11am - 12pm (1 chapel credit will be given)
Length: 3 weeks

Mindfulness and Meditation Clinic

This group provides students with guided instruction in relaxation, meditation, and mindfulness practices that can help break the cycle of anxiety, stress, unhappiness and exhaustion.

Class titles are:  Automatic Pilot, Dealing with Barriers, Mindfulness of Breath, Staying Present, Allowing and Letting Be, Thoughts are not Facts, How Can I best Take Care of Myself, and Using What's Been Learned to Deal with Future Moods

Semester:  Fall and Spring Semesters

Time: Tuesdays from 11am - 12:15pm (1 chapel credit will be given)
Length: 8 weeks
