Why did you decide to come to ACU?
ACU was initially my second choice. I visited another university, and it was absolutely horrible. So that same day my family and I conducted our own tour around the campus, and everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I loved the school, the people and the campus; therefore, I decided to take a structured tour with ACU students showing my family and me around. Even though I loved ACU, I told myself that I would attend only if I made the cheerleading squad. After stiff competition, I made the team and here I am today in the graduating class of May 2014.
How has ACU prepared you academically for your future?
Being able to have personable relationships with professors is an incredible advantage in college. Since my professors wanted me to succeed in classes, and my future education, they were more than willing to meet with me outside of class. When you have professors that care about their students it makes the learning experience more enjoyable.
How has your experience at ACU impacted you?
The ACU campus is filled with the Word of God. Being surrounded with people who love Christ, while interning at a Christian-based agency, has encouraged me to pursue a more intimate relationship with Christ. I always thought that He and I had an unexplainable best friend relationship; however, being surround by people whose faith was more mature than mine made me want a stronger relationship with Christ.
What have you gained through your involvement with LYNAY and PULSE?
I have gained more volunteer experience, friendships and professional connections for my future career.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
I will be attending The University of Texas at Arlington to obtain my masters degree in social work.
