Jason Iris ('13) | Environmental Science
Extracurricular activities/organizations: Agriculture and Environmental Science (AES) Club
Favorite course: Environmental Thought
Biggest surprise about ACU: The Bean is all-you-can-eat.
You might also like to know: I was also a Vocational Missions major.
Advice to incoming students: If you’re going to double major, make sure you work closely and carefully with your advisors to plan it out well.
Why did you decide to come to ACU?
Initially because it was affiliated with the Church of Christ and offered Environmental Science; then also because of connections. The two daughters of one of the elders from my home church were students here, and my minister’s wife did her graduate degree here.
How has ACU prepared you academically for your future?
It has given me skills that will be helpful for my future profession, such as report writing.
How has your experience at ACU affected your faith walk?
It has challenged me to re-examine my faith and to better understand what I believe and why I believe it.
What was the best part of your involvement with LYNAY?
Friends, enjoyment from doing community service, and motivation to perform with excellence in school.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
Still praying about it, but I’m considering going to graduate school to study Environmental Engineering.
