Position: Recreation - Student Worker

The mission of the McGlothlin Campus Center is to work within Campus Life to educate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world. As part of the ACU family, the Campus Center strives to provide a pleasant experience and excellent service to our students, employees and campus visitors through the facilities we offer and the personal attention we give to each guest.

Scope: Responsible for providing friendly and effective customer service to all guests.

  1. Basic Responsibilities.

  1. Operation of Cash Register.

  1. Distribution and Collection of Recreation Equipment.

  1. Cleaning.

  1. General Help and Errands.

  1. Provide Good Customer Service.

  1. Essential Duties Include the Following:

  1. Operation of Cash Register.

    1. Charge for services rendered.

    2. Make change for guests.

    3. Give refunds for campus-wide vending machines.

    4. Z-Out cash register.

  1. Distribution and Collection of Recreation Equipment.

  1. Bowling

    1. Distribute shoes to customers.

    2. Collect shoes after customer's game.

    3. Assist bowlers with score keeping.

  1. Pool

    1. Distribute pool balls and cue sticks to customers.

    2. B. Collect pool equipment after customers game.

  1. Games

    1. Distribute board, card and other free-of-charge games to customers.

    2. Collect various free-of-charge games after customer use.

  1. Cleaning

    1. Clean work area.

      1. Wipe down counter, ball returns, score tables, video games and walls each time you come to work.

      2. Keep work area clean (includes keeping shoes, bowling balls and pool cues in proper place).

      3. Report large cleaning needs (for WFF) to manager.

  1. General Help and Errands

    1. Run errands for managers when requested.

    2. Assist managers with minor bowling machine repairs.

      1. Pin stacks

      2. Stuck finger

    3. Help with room set-ups when requested.

      1. Lift, move and set up tables, chairs and other furniture.

      2. Set up audio/video equipment.

      3. .Rearrange rooms when needed.

  1. Customer Service

    1. Polite, effective and efficient service to all customers.

    2. Kind to all customers, treating them like you would want to be treated.

  1. Qualifications:

  1. Communication

    1. Ability to read and follow instructions.

    2. Ability to communicate well in writing.

    3. Ability to communicate well orally.

    4. Ability to read charts and graphs.

    5. Ability to interact with guests, co-workers and supervisors on a professional level.

  1. Physical Demands: These are physical demands that are regularly required to perform this job.

  1. Physical Demands to lift 5-60 pounds.
