The mission of the McGlothlin Campus Center is to work within Campus Life to educate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world. The goal of the Campus Center is to provide a pleasant experience and excellent service to our students, employees, and campus visitors through the facilities we offer, the information we impart, and the personal attention we give to each guest.

Scope: Responsible for providing friendly and effective customer service to all guests.

  1. Basic Responsibilities:

  1. Answering Phone/Provide Information to callers.

  2. Providing Information to Campus Guests.

  3. Cleaning.

  4. Assist Visitors using facilities.

  5. General Office Help and Errands.

  1. Essential Duties include the following:

  1. Answering Phone/Provide Information to callers

    1. Provide phone numbers

      1. Provide phone numbers of faculty, staff, and students to callers, transferring callers when requested/necessary.

      2. Provide Abilene area phone numbers to callers.

    2. Provide Directions

      1. Provide directions to callers attempting to locate the Campus.

      2. Provide directions to callers attempting to locate a specific building/location on campus.

    3. Provide information about university, or related events to callers.

  2. Provide information to Campus Guests

    1. Provide phone numbers and general information

a. Provide phone numbers of faculty, staff, and students.

  1. Provide Abilene area phone numbers to guests.

  2. Check lost and found for guests.

  1. Provide Directions

    1. Provide directions to guests attempting to locate a specific building/location on campus, providing maps when necessary.

    2. Provide directions to local hotels, motels and restaurants to guests.

  2. Provide information about university or related events to guests.

a. Use notebooks and other information.

  1. Be aware of main contacts for various conferences/events.

  1. Cleaning

    1. Clean work area.

      1. Wipe down counter, telephone and desk each time you arrive to work.

      2. Clean Ticket Window area each time you arrive at work or as needed.

      3. Wipe down conference tables when requested.

      4. Report large cleaning needs to Campus Center Manager.

  1. Assist visitors using facilities

    1. Facility Needs

      1. Turn on amplifier in sound closet.

      2. Distribute microphones, easels, and extension cords.

      3. Set up overhead profector, video profector, etc.

      4. Set up tables and chairs.

    2. General needs

      1. Check lost and found for guests.

      2. Take care of guests like you would want to be taken care of as a guest.

  1. General Office Help and Errands

    1. Lost and Found

      1. Place items that have been turned in into correct lost and found location.

      2. Retrieve items that have been turned in from correct lost and found location.

    2. Errands

      1. Deliver cash deposits to Cashier Window.

      2. Take schedules and other items to specified locations.

    1. Communication

      1. Ability to read and follow instructions.

      2. Ability to communicate well in writing

      3. Ability to communicate well orally.

      4. Ability to read charts and graphs.

      5. Ability to professionally interact with guests, co-workers and supervisors.

  1. Physical Demands: These are physical demands that are regularly required to perform this job.

  1. Physical Demands to lift 5-25 pounds
