Be a Wildcat Scout in your Church

As a Wildcat Scout, you can help by being the "eyes and ears" for ACU at your local congregation.  Wildcat Scouts work closely with staff from the Admissions and Alumni Relations offices to help recruit students from your church to attend ACU.  Wildcat Scouts generally have one activity each quarter.

June, July, August
Ensure that the ACU Admissions Office has a current youth list (7th to 12th grades) for the upcoming school year.  A Wildcat Scout should also help identify students who are considered leaders in the youth group and have exceptional talents and skills or receive significant awards that should be recognized by ACU.  Assist with promotion of a Back-to-School Bash in your area by encouraging attendance among new and current ACU students, and alumni in your congregation.

September, October, November
Encourage students to attend a Purple & White Reception in the area.

December, January, February
Write a letter to each senior in the youth group encouraging them to choose ACU as their college of choice.  ACU can provide a template letter and spreadsheet of student information.  All you have to do is personalize the letter, merge the two, sign and mail.

March, April, May
Provide ACU with information about a "senior service."  Most congregations recognize high school seniors around the time of their graduation.  Let us know when and where.

If you would like to be a Wildcat Scout for your congregation, please complete the volunteer sign-up form and it will be sent to the Alumni Relations Office.  An alumni outreach officer will contact you once your information is received.

Expected time commitment:  2 to 3 hours per quarter

For more information, contact an Alumni Outreach Officer at alumni@acu.edu or 800-373-4220 or 325-674-2622.
