Graduation Celebration
Friday, May 12

General Information

This celebration takes the place of the Senior Dinner, which has been the Friday night alumni event in year's past.

This event is outdoors for the entire evening.  In case of rain, dinner will be in The Bean and the celebration event will be in Moody Coliseum.  We will provide water for everyone. There will be clearly marked water stations throughout the mall area of campus.  We will also provide a hand-held fan for use during the event.

Dress is casual. You may wear jeans and other casual clothing to this event.  Wear your ACU name tag. If you don’t have an ACU nametag, we will provide stick-on nametags at the Alumni Association purple tent.

A detailed program will be distributed at the event. The program will include specific details outlining the evening’s festivities. It will include:  A map for specific information and water stations, which will be set up throughout the mall area.  Restrooms will be marked in designated buildings – please refer to the program for these locations.

Grand Processional and Program Information
7:30 p.m. - Report to Moody Coliseum to prepare for the grand processional.
As a faculty member, there are reserved seats for you in the mall area. Your family will be asked to sit in our guest seating areas.  Please wear your robe and hood only during the grand processional, no hat.

You can to drop-off your regalia at the University Events Office located along the north side of the Moody concourse beginning Thursday, May 11, through Friday, May 12, before 5 p.m. You can pick it up for the grand processional at 7:30 p.m. that evening.

Faculty line-up will be in the Moody concourse area and will include two lines.  Each line will be led by a marshal.  Following the marshal will be a faculty representative carrying a banner representing each college.  Banners will be placed on stage and specific instructions will be given to those carrying them.

The Grand Processional
8 p.m. - Drum core will lead you out of Moody Coliseum.
You will line the sidewalks along the mall area and stand until the student processional ends.  Once all faculty members have lined the sidewalk, music will play and the student processional will begin – they will walk in between the two faculty lines.

This processional serves as a symbolic piece of our program. Students are walking through a pathway of familiar faces, of faculty and friends, who have helped prepare them to go into the world and accomplish great things.

Once students complete the walk, you will be led to your seat for the remainder of the program.

If you have questions, feel free to contact Dwayne VanRheenen or Amber Peck.
