Celebrate Christmas with ACU!
Mingle and Jingle
On Sunday, Dec. 2, bring blankets, chairs and kids between 7-9 p.m. for the Mingle and Jingle Christmas Celebration. Come out and sit with Santa, enjoy a Christmas movie with hot cocoa and cookies, and get in the holiday spirit with an acoustic Christmas concert from ACU alumnus and country music star Aaron Watson ('00) on the steps of the Onstead-Packer Biblical Studies Building. The concert will start around 8 p.m.; it should be an awesome time. The best part: It's all free! Instead of charging admission, we're asking families to donate an unwrapped toy for Abilene's Christmas in the Streets sponsored by Love and Care Ministries. I hope you'll be able to make it out; this should be a terrific event for the whole family and a great way for ACU and the Abilene community to celebrate Christmas together.
On Tuesday, Dec. 4, the second annual Christmas Slam will have Moody Coliseum full to cheer on the ACU basketball teams as they face Texas A&M-Commerce. The women's team tips off at 5:30 p.m. and the men take the court at 7:30. Santa will be there, too, as will ACU social clubs and other student organizations, who will set up Christmas-themed booths and give away food and drinks. The Students' Association is sponsoring free pictures with Santa (as played by our very own Mark Lewis). Tickets are available at the door, $10 for adults and $5 for children 18 and under, with discounts for military personnel, church staff and ACU faculty and staff.
As we enter into this season of joy and celebration but also full schedules and stress, why not take time out and have some fun with your ACU family? We'd love to see you!
