Briefly describe your job:  I research companies for investment by "ethical" funds or those with specific criteria on social responsibility. I visit companies in Europe, the UK, the US and Asia to discuss their ethical policies and practices. I have worked at AAM for 4 years; I started out as an investment writer.

What courses were beneficial in preparation for your career?  English. However, for my Master's degree, I utilized my French degree, too. I wish I had taken some business classes, though, such as economics and accounting.

How did your career path lead you to your current position?  I married a man from Scotland and had to find a job in a smaller economy from what I was used to in the US. Financial services were one of the few career paths open to someone without a "specialist" degree or qualifications here in Glasgow.

What does it take to be a Christian practitioner in your field?  Probably the same as in any other field.

What do you love about your job?  The travel and meeting people.

What advice would you give to a student considering a career in your field?  Study what you love at university. You may have to learn other skills in order to do a job someday, but at least you will have been true to yourself when you started out. And always remember: the Lord provides.
