Student Recreation and Wellness Center
The Student Recreation and Wellness Center is a 113,000-square-foot expansion and renovation of the existing Physical Education Center adjoining Moody Coliseum. It will be named for retiring ACU president Royce Money and his wife, Pam.
Featuring student-requested items, state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge workout and classroom space, this $21 million expansion will turn the building into a primary hub of student community. It will be much more than just a fitness center; it will focus on the holistic development of students.
Students Participate in the Vision
This project has been envisioned with student participation; students specifically requested the climbing wall and leisure pool and larger gyms and weight rooms.
Inside the Wellness Center
A new main entrance will feature a community area and intramural offices. Inside the facility, a new 1/8-mile jogging track and rock-climbing wall will join significantly expanded free weights and aerobics areas and renovated basketball courts. Additionally, a new cardio theatre and renovated dressing areas, laundry area and locker rooms will provide a state-of-the-art workout experience for ACU’s students. Most prominently, a new leisure swimming pool and a renovated pool for classes will greatly enhance swim, scuba and other water-based instruction.
Likewise, renovated and reconfigured class and office space will improve the classroom experience for students and faculty alike.
The relocation of the campus clinic and counseling offices to the new facility also serves the students by giving them a modern, expanded, comprehensive facility.
Join Us in Honoring Royce and Pam Money
Nearly 60 percent - or $12 million - of the cost has been raised for this project, which will remake the center of campus. Join us in honoring Royce and Pam Money by helping to complete the funding of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
