Mary Ellen is the administrative coordinator for Advancement Services. She was in the oil industry 18 years before coming to ACU through a temp agency in March 2003.
As the administrative coordinator, she assists the director and serves as a receptionist to the office. Her responsibilities include processing and sorting all incoming mail for the Advancement Office and preparing all gift acknowledgments and memorial gift notification cards. She also updates alumni, parent and friend records and assists with special events.
Mary Ellen received her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology at Howard Payne University in 1960. She became certified to teach her fields of study for middle and secondary schools in 1975 at Hardin-Simmons University. From 1989-1991 she obtained 30 graduate hours in reading education and 15 post-graduate hours in elementary education at HSU.
Being the mother of 3 children and 2 grandchildren is a blessing and joy for her, and she is always delighted to have time with them. She enjoys mystery and suspense novels and movies.
