Moody Coliseum is one of the most versatile and high-quality facilities of its type in West Texas. Built in 1968 and refurbished in 1992, it is the venue for Daily Assembly and Chapel at 11:00 a.m. each weekday morning of the fall and spring semesters. Moody seats 4,500 for basketball games and volleyball matches, and up to 5,500 for Sing Song and Bible Lectureship, Commencement, Opening Assembly, concerts, special speakers and community events. It is adjacent to the Gibson Health and Physical Education Center, the home of the Department of Health and Exercise Science. Moody was the site of the 1996 NCAA Division II south central region women's basketball tournament and other collegiate and high school championship events.
