Kathryn grew up in Amarillo, Texas and graduated from Amarillo High School in 2001.  Her heart was always set on coming to ACU, but instead she decided on a state university in order to ease the financial concerns her parents had.  After attending the student orientation for the state university, Kathryn knew it wasn't the place for her.  She drove with her parents to Abilene a month before classes began in August, spoke with her Admissions Counselor, and enrolled at ACU three weeks before the first day of class.

"It was wonderful to see that ACU was the right fit for me.  If I hadn't visited the ACU campus, and spoken with my Admissions Counselor, my life would have been extremely different.  My parents instantly fell in love with the ACU community and finally understood the value of the investment they were making by sending me to ACU"

Kathryn graduated from ACU in December 2005, with a Bachelor of Science in Human Communication.  She joined the admissions office in November of 2006 after spending a year serving with her husband at a church in Tulia, Texas.

"I can't imagine where my life would be if I had attended that state university.  ACU not only gave me a strong foundation in the classroom, but gave me the opportunity to learn from some of the greatest individuals.  The community of faith that I was surrounded by here at ACU was such a blessing.  I formed life-long relationships with people who encouraged me, walked along beside me, prayed for me and challenged me to grow in every aspect of life.  Because of ACU, and the people that I encountered here, I feel that I learned more about our Creator and gained a deeper understanding of how to serve Him."
