  • Deadlines represent risk dates. Students who apply after these dates may find they are eligible, but may not be awarded a scholarship due to limited funding.

ACT/SAT Scholarships

Who

Undergraduate only, entering ACU with less than 12 hours (excluding dual credit, AP, IB). SAT combined total of 1020 on the math and critical reading sections only (excluding the writing section) or above or ACT of 22 or above.

Automatically awarded to eligible students when admitted. The applicant will be given credit for the highest composite test score on record prior to initial enrollment.


 

Athletics Scholarships

Who

Determined by NCAA and coach.

How Much

Varies. Can range from $1,000 per year to full tuition.

How Long

Renewed annually, based on various factors.

Christian Academies

Who

Undergraduate only, with less than 150 hours. Must be a dependent child of a full-time employee of a Christian school that is a National Christian Schools Association member.

How Much

Guarantee of 25 percent of tuition for employees' children, 50 percent of tuition for the children of the superintendent, CEO or principal when coordinated with federal, state and other institutional grants.

How Long

Up to eight long semesters while pursuing first undergraduate degree. Not available for summer terms.

How to Apply

Must provide employment verification on school letterhead.

Deadline

March 1.

Other

Employee must be employed for 12 months prior to date of ACU enrollment. Student must be under age 25.


 

Christian Colleges 

Who

Undergraduate only, with less than 150 hours. Must be a dependent child of a full-time employee of an ACU sister college participating in the reciprocal tuition discount program.

How Much

Guarantee of 50 percent tuition when coordinated with federal, state and institutional grants.

How Long

Up to eight long semesters while pursuing first undergraduate degree. Not available for summer terms.

How to Apply

Must provide employment verification on school letterhead.

Deadline

March 1.

Other

Employee must be employed for 12 months prior to date of ACU enrollment. Student must be under age 25. Contact Financial Aid for list of participating schools.


 

Church Match Scholarship 

Who

Students must receive a matching scholarship from their church congregation and be enrolled full-time (12 hours per semester). The congregation must send the scholarship check with the completed application.

How Much

The maximum amount eligible for the matching scholarship from ACU is $500 per student per academic year.

How Long

For fall and spring semesters only; not for use during summer sessions.

How to Apply

Congregation must complete the Church Match Scholarship form. The congregation must send the scholarship check with the completed application.

Deadline

Submit application with check between June 1 - Sept. 1 for fall semester, Dec. 1 - Feb. 1 for spring semester.

Faith & Education Scholarship
Who This Scholarship is open to all active Church of Christ members who are attending a 4 year liberal arts college. The scholarship is for undergraduate education only.
How Much The scholarship is $5,000 paid in two $2,500 payments (at the beginning of each semester)
How Long This is a non-renewable one year scholarship. However, students are encouraged to apply annually.

iSchool Scholarship 

The School of Information Technology and Computing will begin accepting scholarship applications this fall for the 2009 school year. Information and application forms will be sent to all students who have applied to ACU and have indicated an intended major in computer science or technology. 

Who

Fall 2009 freshmen and transfer students are eligible to compete for this scholarship.

 

Student must have applied and been accepted for admission to ACU and submit all documents for a technology or computing scholarship. Complete your application for admission today.

 

*Transfer students from Abilene InterCollegiate member schools are not eligible.

How Much

Ranges from $2000 per year to full tuition

How Long

The Scholarship pays a maximum of eight long semesters (fall and spring semesters for four years).  The scholarship may not be used for summer semesters. 

How to Apply

  • Download a scholarship application form (PDF), print it and complete the form.  Once completed, send to the address at the bottom of the form.  At this time, the PDF is not editable. The editable version should be available soon.
  • Apply and be accepted to Abilene Christian University .
 Other
  • The selection process includes a thorough review of all application items.
  • Application items and essay should demonstrate your interest, talent and commitment to the field of technology or computing.
  • Candidates receive higher award consideration for gpa, test score and commitment to the field of technology or computing.
  • Financial need may be considered (submit FAFSA here).

Missionary Children

Who

Undergraduate only. Child of full-time Church of Christ missionary currently in foreign field. Must be sponsored by a U.S. Church of Christ.

How Much

Guarantee of 75 percent of tuition when coordinated with federal, state and other institutional grants.

How Long

Up to eight long semesters while pursuing first undergraduate degree. Not available for summer terms.

How to Apply

Complete the FAFSA annually and the application for missionary scholarship.

Deadline

March 1.

Other

Recipients must reside in university-owned housing or University Park Apartments and must earn at least 12 semester hours. Minimum GPA to maintain scholarship is 2.5.

 

National Merit Finalist Scholarship

Who

Undergraduate only, entering ACU with less than 12 credit hours (excluding dual credit, AP, IB). Must be named a National Merit Finalist.

How Much

Guarantee of 100 percent tuition when coordinated with federal, state and other institutional grants.

How Long

Nine consecutive long semesters or your graduation, whichever comes first. May be used for summer terms (including Maymester) between the first and ninth semester.

How to Apply

Provide National Merit Certificate and its requirements, pdf file.

Deadline

March 1.

Other

National Merit Finalists are required to list ACU as first choice with the National Merit Corporation.  Minimum GPA to maintain scholarship is 3.5.


 

National Merit Semi-Finalist or Commended Scholarship 

Who

Undergraduate only, entering ACU with less than 12 credit hours. Must be named National Merit Semi-Finalist or Commended.

How Much

$300 Commended; $500 Semi-Finalist per academic year.

How Long

Nine consecutive long semesters or your graduation, whichever comes first. May be used for summer terms (including Maymester) between the first and ninth semester.

Provide National Merit Certificate and its requirements, pdf file.

Deadline

March 1.

Other

National Merit Semi-Finalists are required to list ACU as first choice with the National Merit Corporation.

Minimum GPA required for renewal varies by scholarship program. Satisfactory academic progress must be made by each student in order to maintain any financial aid program.

 

Presidential Scholar Awards 

Who

Full Tuition Presidential Scholarship Award:
Undergraduate only, entering ACU with less than 14 credit hours (excluding dual credit, AP, IB). High school GPA of 3.5 or above; SAT combined total of 1360 on the math and critical reading sections only (excluding the writing section) or above; ACT of 31 or above.

Half Tuition Presidential Scholarship Award:

Undergraduate only, entering ACU with no more than 14 credit hours (excluding dual credit, AP, IB). High school GPA of 3.5 or above; SAT of 1210-1350; ACT of 27-30.

How Much

Guarantee of half or full tuition when coordinated with federal, state and other institutional grants.

How Long

Nine consecutive long semesters (maximum 144 semester hours) or your graduation, whichever comes first.

Complete the Presidential Scholar Award Application.

Recipients must reside in an ACU residence hall or in University Park Apartments.  Minimum GPA to maintain scholarship is 3.5 for full tuition award, 3.2 for half tuition award. 

 

Rachel Blasingame Memorial Scholarship

Who

Qualified High School Seniors who desire to attend ACU.

How Much

Amount may vary depending on individual need.

Tessie Eerligh Scharing Memorial Scholarship

Undergraduate only, transferring to ACU with high academic standing.

Based on cumulative GPA from all previous colleges.

4.0 - 3.5 = $3,000

3.49-3.25 = $2,000

3.24-3.0 = $1,000

Up to six long semesters while pursuing first undergraduate degree. Not available for summer terms.

How to Receive

Must be an admitted student. Must provide an official transcript of all classes prior to ACU.

Deadline

First day of class for entering semester.

Other

Minimum GPA to maintain scholarship is 3.0.

 

Valedictorian or Salutatorian Scholarship 

Who

Undergraduate only. Must be ranked #1 or #2 in a high school class.

How Much

$1,000.

How Long

This is a one-year award.
