Real-World Experience
- Nursing students have the opportunity to work in 25 unique settings, including two medical centers, home-health care programs, mental health facilities, pediatric clinics and others.
- Students work on technologically advanced mannequins, which talk to students and enact human and bodily reactions to treatments.
Exceptional Degrees
- The School of Nursing prepares students for positions in virtually all areas of hospitals, community health settings, home health agencies, nursing home facilities and health-care administration. It also prepares students for graduate school.
Faculty Who Make the Difference
- The faculty:student ratio in the School of Nursing is 8:1, which provides mentoring and hands-on experience unparalleled by other universities.
- Approximately 46 percent of full-time faculty have earned
doctoral degrees. Of the others, 15 percent are pursuing their Ph.D.
- More than 38 percent of full-time faculty are advance
practice nurses.
*ACU is part of a three-member consortium providing Christian collegiate nursing education in Texas. The first two years in this program are spent in the ACU environment, becoming acclimated to college life and building relationships. Junior and senior years are spent mostly in classes or hospitals gaining practical experience.
