Helpful Resources
Journalism and Mass Communication

Real-World Experience
- Low teacher-student ratios allow our experienced faculty devote hundreds of hours mentoring and providing hands-on experience for majors.
- Student-produced media includes KACU-FM (affiliated with NPR and the Associated Press), KXN-TV7 and the Optimist (bi-weekly student newspaper). The student media are housed in the JMC Network - a unique, state-of-the-art, converged media newsroom.
- Experience gained through student-produced media on campus, research opportunities, internship/practicum work and membership in nationally affiliated organizations during their undergraduate years result in high employment and graduate school acceptance rates upon commencement. Recent grads have gone on to full employment with companies they interned with previously due to the required internship in the program.
Exceptional Degrees
- ACU is the only Church of Christ-affiliated University to be accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, and one of only 13 private institutions nationwide.
- Former students are leaders in the entertainment, media, and public relations industries and have been recognized with Pulitzer Prize, Emmy, Dove and Telly awards.
- Message focused, technology driven and committed to convergence, the JMC curriculum is designed not only to prepare graduates for their first job, but to make them flexible, mobile and prepared for the rapidly changing media environments of the future.
