Real-World Experience
- Facilities in the Department of Exercise Science include a human performance laboratory for testing, instruction and research; a six-lane 25-yard swimming pool; racquetball courts; gymnastics room; multiple basketball courts; tennis courts and three weight/aerobic exercise rooms.
- Students teach one activity course before graduation to gain experience in the teaching field. Activity courses include racquetball, strength training, bowling and many more.
- Students often participate in research with faculty members to improve the lifestyles of many within the Abilene community.
Exceptional Degrees
- Discover careers in teaching, coaching, exercise and fitness sports nutrition, wellness, rehabilitation, physical therapy, food science and more.
- The nutrition program is approved by the American Dietetics Association.
- Graduates in exercise science and health education are in
demand because of their preparation in teaching and work
experience under the supervision of exercise science and
health faculty.
