Types of Financial Aid

When applying for financial aid, you’ll find funding options for various academic and socioeconomic needs. To help you navigate your options, our admissions counselors offer financial aid appointments to discuss your needs and develop sustainable goals.

Your admissions materials will include your Merit Based Scholarship based on your academic record. You may also be eligible to apply for targeted ACU scholarships or obtain student employment. Remember to submit your Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) when the application opens in December 2023, then anticipate your financial aid offer from ACU in late spring!

Loans

Financial aid in the form of loans is borrowed now and repaid later, usually after you graduate. Your FAFSA information will determine your eligibility for federal loans, but you may also seek out private loans that will be verified by ACU’s Office of Student Financial Services.

Grants

Unlike loans, you do not have to repay grant aid. Grant funding is renewed by sustaining your academic progress and demonstrating commitment to your education. ACU offers some need-based grants, and you may also qualify for state or federal grant aid. Like other federal funding, your eligibility for grants such as the Federal Pell Grant is based on your FAFSA filing.

Scholarships

To celebrate your achievements and endeavors, your admissions packet may include details on ACU scholarships based on your academic merit and/or extracurricular, service-learning and leadership involvement.

On Campus Jobs

ACU offers on campus job opportunities that allow you to work part-time as you complete your degree gaining valuable career experience while helping to fund your education.
