David Ramsey works as sports columnist for the Gazette of Colorado Springs, where he lives with his wife, Sheryl, and their three children, Ruth, Luke and Caleb.
He is a graduate of South High School in Denver, York (Neb.) College and ACU ('81). He earned a master's degree in American history from Syracuse University in 2003.
His parents, David Leon and the late Mary Ann, met on the Abilene Christian campus. Nearly 30 years later, Ramsey met his wife, Sheryl ('84), on the same campus. He is the son-in-law of ACU professor emeritus Dr. Kelly Dean Hamby and his wife, Eleanor.
A contributing writer for ACU Today, Ramsey has been thrilled to write on the lives of two of his heroes, former ACU dean Dr. Walter H. Adams and former ACU president Dr. John C. Stevens.
