New York (Summer)

The following is a descritption of the conference trips that scholars have participated in. Each conference includes opportunities to:

Lake Delevan, Wisconsin (Fall)

The Ronald E. McNair National Research Conference in Lake Delevan, Wisconsin is held in November every year. The conference setting is Lake Delevan, which is accented by the golf course and incredible fall foliage. This trip is typically one week long, and begins with several days spent in Chicago, IL. In addition to the conference, previous trips have included:

University of North Texas (Spring)

The Texas National McNair Scholars’ Research Conference is held in Denton, Texas, at the University of North Texas in February. Of the three trips, this is the shortest trip, usually lasting three or four days. In addition to the conference, previous trips have included:

These conference trips provide a wonderful opportunity to experience life and culture outside of Abilene and Abilene Christian University. Often these trips become one of the highlights for our scholars in their experience with the McNair Scholars Program.
