McNair Scholars Program
Mission
The McNair Scholars Program is designed to provide qualified college students with effective preparation for doctoral study.
Goals
- To provide opportunities to develop the research skills necessary for admission to doctoral education.
- To produce students who will obtain a terminal degree, for teaching and/or research.
What benefits does McNair offer?
- $2,800 stipend for eight-week Summer Research Institute
- Work with a faculty mentor
- Help in securing admission to the graduate program of your choice
- Improved study and test-taking skills
- Counseling: academic, personal, career, and financial
- Participation in professional conferences
- Receive three credit hours in advance research courses
- GRE preparation
