McNair Scholars Program

Mission

The McNair Scholars Program is designed to provide qualified college students with effective preparation for doctoral study.

Goals

To provide opportunities to develop the research skills necessary for admission to doctoral education.
To produce students who will obtain a terminal degree, for teaching and/or research.

What benefits does McNair offer?

$2,800 stipend for eight-week Summer Research Institute
Work with a faculty mentor
Help in securing admission to the graduate program of your choice
Improved study and test-taking skills
Counseling: academic, personal, career, and financial
Participation in professional conferences
Receive three credit hours in advance research courses
GRE preparation
