The McNair Scholars Program is offered on a competitive basis.
- 3.0 minimum cumulative grade point average
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
- Meet federal low-income guidelines and be in the first generation in your family to complete a bachelor's degree or be a member of a group that is underrepresented in graduate education (African American, Chicano/Latino or Native American)
Participants will be selected on the basis of having the potential for doctoral studies. A committee comprised of faculty, the dean of the Graduate School, the TRIO coordinator, the McNair Program director, and the McNair academic coordinator will interview and select from eligible students.
