Welcome to the School of Information Technology and Computing, the iSchool at ACU!
Unless you hail from another planet, you already realize that technology, specifically digital technology, is constantly changing and that it impacts almost every aspect of our lives. Cell phones, iPods, wireless communications, and Internet-based commerce are just a few of the relatively recent technological advances that have made a huge impact on the way we live, play, communicate, and do business.
The careers and jobs that ultimately lead to new ideas and products like these are also constantly changing. Some of the highest projected job growth in the United States over the next ten years will be in computer-related fields.
Our goal in SITC is to give you the very best training possible to take advantage of these trends and to prepare you for a career in a high-tech industry. Whether you have a strong interest in the inner workings of computers or you just enjoy experimenting with new tools or toys on your laptop, we want to talk with you. Along with a strong foundation in core university studies, our educational programs are designed to give you all the technical skills you need to get a good job or proceed to graduate school, yet with the flexibility you desire to specialize in a particular area of interest.
We offer small classes taught by professors with advanced degrees from some of the best schools in the country, along with state-of-the-art equipment and teaching facilities, access to internships through local and regional corporate partnerships, collaborative research opportunities, and participation in student/professional organizations. We pledge to give you the same or better quality high-tech education right here at ACU as any university in the country, with the added benefits of individual attention and personal mentorship. More than this, we offer you the opportunity to build lifelong relationships with professors, staff, and other students who together are seeking to integrate faith and learning in ways that can have a significant and positive impact on the world beyond our campus.
