In this live programme Volkmar Parschalk interviewed Elena Ostleitner
(music sociologist, equal treatment respresentative of the Vienna
Musikhochschule) and Carole Dawn Reinhart (professor of trumpet and
head of the department of wind-instruments at the Vienna
Musikhochschule). During this programme people could call and ask
questions or tell their opinion. A man called and told the story when a
school class visited the Vienna State Opera. Especially the girls were
interested why there are no women in the orchestra. They heard the old
arguments: the unity will be disturbed, pregnancy... And then Prof.
Resel, the head of the VPO, answered: THEY ONLY TAKE WHITE MEN TO PLAY
WHITE MUSIC BY WHITE COMPOSERS FOR A WHITE AUDIENCE!
The VPO seems to be not only sexist, but racist.
