The Gaines B. Stanley Sr. Theological Reading Room and Reference Collection located in the Stevens wing of the Brown Library is a space that highlights this institution's purpose and identity. The room contains materials, chiefly books, on topics such as biblical studies, theology, church history, devotional literature, religions, philosophy and ethics. The room was dedicated on September 19, 2006 in honor of Stanley Sr. and was funded by a gift from his son, Gaines Stanley Jr. Stanley Sr. currently resides in California with his wife, Jean.
