About FACUL
The Friends of ACU Library (FACUL) was organized in 1966 and has served since that date as a strong, effective support group working to enhance the library. Through fund raising, FACUL has been able to purchase equipment and materials that would otherwise be beyond the reach of the library. Three major bibliographic series, the Early American Imprints in microtext, support for travel to library conferences, and a new reader/printer for microforms are among the gifts FACUL has presented to the library.
In addition to gifts originating within the membership, FACUL has served to attract gifts to the library from other sources as well. Both monetary gifts and gifts of collections have come to the library as the result of the Friend's influence. Fulfilling another of its purposes, FACUL sponsors programs ranging from scholarly lectures to student-produced plays to galas celebrating music, art, and literature. Each year FACUL gives an award to a "Friend of the Year," recognizing them and their particular body of work, and its contribution the community at large.
The wide range of programs and activities sponsored by FACUL assure that all persons intrerested in supporting the ACU Library can find a way to participate with others who have a passion for books and learning.
