Vernon and Alice Boyd were honored on September 21, 2009, by the Friends of ACU Library for their gift of the R. Vernon Boyd Collection of oral histories collected in the course of his research into the history of African-American Churches of Christ.
FACUL and ACU Press honored the Boyds with speakers, authors, and a reception. A dispay, with items from the Boyd collection, is located in the Milliken Special Collections area, Next to the Boyd display is a collection of photos, recordings, and writings centered around the topic "Facing the Issue."
