Areas of scholarship or expertise: Master’s in English with special emphasis in British  Medieval and Modern American, but with current interest in 19th century British.

• English 111, 112

• English 221, 222.

Published works: various short articles, reviews, etc. in various periodicals

Originally from: born in Mississippi, but grew up in New Jersey (it’s a long story)

Work of literature, art or music you would recommend: Gaudy Night (novel) by Dorothy L. Sayers

Why you do what you do: I can’t imagine not teaching. When you love something, you want to help others love it, too.

What you want to give your students: I want to help students discover a subject that maybe they’d given up on before. I want to help them find a part of themselves in literature and writing, to own it for themselves.

What you expect from your students: Work, and an open mind.
