Historical preservation saves the physical past for the future. This is vital to the protection of times gone by. Often photographs, diaries, manuscripts and records are saved without regard for the physical environment where people lived and worked. Saving the physical past preserves the infrastructure of society, without which the historical story is incomplete. The value of historical preservation is beyond measure, even the smallest preservation efforts are worthwhile because they provide essential data about the past that is important for a people and their future.
