Unit on Documenting Historical Situations
GRADE LEVEL:Adjustable for grades 8-12
ESTIMATED TIME NEEDED:Approximately 4 weeks but possibly an
ongoing project through the semester.
OBJECTIVES:
- For students to learn how to document objects, buildings, and
events and how to present this in a display.
- Evaluate the validity of a source of information.
ACTIVITIES:
- Approve a structure with the teacher on what the student will
photograph.
- Photograph decaying, old buildings; areas; and events of
historical significance.
- These photographs can be arranged into a project of 5-8 photos
documenting a building or area.
- A 3-5 page paper can be
required with it to explain the subject, differences, and
historical significance of their project. This can be used as a
midterm project.
