Evaluate the validity of a source of information.
ACTIVITY: CREATE A HISTORICAL EXHIBIT:
- A theme should be chosen by the teacher.
- The students will break that theme down into specific ideas.
- They will then construct their own exhibit on a piece of poster
board with 3-4 photos, 2 of which they should have taken and
printed.
- There should be a common theme with a title and descriptive
explainations for each photo.
- A 5-page paper should also be written explaining their project,
how the photos relate, and the background of their theme.
- The exhibits can then be arranged around the classroom to look
like a museum.
The 1993 Field School put together a photo exhibit of mining towns
in southern Colorado. The exhibit consisted of period photographs
and current photographs of buildings and towns. They were each
arranged in a strategic manner with photos and text mounted on
poster board.
