Program Cost 

The D.Min. program assesses a flat program fee rather than charging tuition per credit hour. This $12,000 program fee is billed over the course of three years, with students responsible for paying only $4,000 per year. The program fee covers tuition for all classes and retreats required for the program and equates to just over $350 per credit hour. 

In addition to the program fee, students will be responsible for the following additional expenses which are necessary for participation in the D.Min. program:

  1. Resource fee (one-time payment upon entrance into the program)
  2. Books and other required course materials
  3. Travel expenses (including room and board)
  4. Library fees (if needed)
  5. Fees pertaining to the project/thesis, including binding and copyrighting

 

Financial Aid

D.Min. Scholarships 

Merit- and need-based scholarships are available to D.Min. students. Scholarship applications are submitted after admission to the program and can be obtained from the DMin office. Please note that the Doctor of Ministry scholarship application and process are separate from the rest of the Graduate School of Theology.

Lynn and Carolyn Anderson Endowed Scholarship

This endowed scholarship provides additional funds to D.Min. students as a way of supporting ministers in the ongoing practice of ministry. Dr. Lynn Anderson was a member of ACU’s inaugural D.Min. cohort in 1987. His and Carolyn’s remarkable ministry to congregations and to ministers is honored by gifts from the Anderson family and many others. Awards are based on character, academic ability, and financial need, and are used to encourage and promote diversity in the program when applicable.

Federal Aid

Additionally, students who are U.S. citizens may be eligible for federal student aid in the form of unsubsidized loans. To qualify, students must be enrolled at least half-time in the semester for which they are seeking aid. For the DMin program, full-time enrollment is defined as 6 credit hours per semester, and half-time enrollment is defined as 3 credit hours per semester. To apply, students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
