Doctor of Ministry

The Doctor of Ministry is a professional doctorate designed for persons in ministry. Its purpose is to enhance the practice of ministry for persons who hold the MDiv. degree (or its equivalent) and are engaged in ministerial leadership. Similar to programs in medicine or law, the Doctor of Ministry focuses on skilled practice rather than on research.

Are you looking to:

  • Develop ways to understand your ministry context more thoroughly?
  • Prepare for the next steps in your ministry career?
  • Deepen your theological reflection and intellectual growth?
  • Nurture leadership skills that foster meaningful change in congregations and communities?
  • Pursue practices that deepen your own spiritual formation?
  • Study in a collegial community of leaders, ministers, and practitioner-scholars?

Then the Doctor of Ministry Program at ACU may be what you are looking for!

At ACU, the Doctor of Ministry Program makes three commitments to our students:

  • Attend to personal spiritual formation throughout the program
