At ACU we are committed to offering a program that partners with ministerial leaders to nurture the deep spiritual formation necessary to sustain a God-shaped ministry in the diverse cultural contexts where the minister practices. We provide the dynamics necessary to develop leadership skills, the capacity to read contexts and cultures, and to deepen theological reflection that heightens the capacity of the minister to participate in God's mission in the world. To do this, ACU's Doctor of Ministry program incorporates the following:

  • Retreats designed especially for practitioner-scholars
  • Mentored relationships for every student with an experienced ministerial leader or spiritual director
  • Contextualized courses where students and faculty gather in a culturally rich, ministry-thick environment such as Dallas or Atlanta--instead of a university classroom
  • Learning opportunities that take advantage of world-class faculty who are active in scholarship and in ministry, as well as the power of peer-learning though the collegial relationships with other ministerial leaders
