About ACU Graduate School of Theology
Since its founding in 1906, Abilene Christian University's mission has been to educate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world.
ACU Graduate School of Theology builds on that commitment by offering specialized programs to train its students for the challenges of the 21st century. Its mission is to equip men and women for effective missional leadership in all its forms and to provide strong academic foundations for theological inquiry.
Faculty members in the Graduate School of Theology are leaders in professional organizations such as the Society of Biblical Literature, the American Academy of Religion, the Academy of Homiletics, the Society of Church History, and the Association of Theological Field Educators, among others. They hold regional offices and national offices in those organizations, present scholarly papers at national and international meetings, and publish widely in professional journals.
At the same time, faculty are involved in ministry among churches all over the world. Many work as consultants for churches and ministries, preach and teach, and serve as elders or other congregational leaders. They are in demand for workshops, seminars and lectureships. They write for the church in popular journals and books.
ACU Graduate School of Theology faculty feel blessed by God to be part of a great body of people seeking to be salt and light in the world. They are pleased to serve in many ways and to invite students to join them in these endeavors.
