Graduation Information: December Commencement

 


Applying for Graduation
The Intent to Graduate is available online. You will receive more information about your degree status and graduation early in the semester you intend to graduate.

  


December Commencement
The graduation ceremony will be on Friday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Moody Coliseum. 

The rehearsal will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Gibson Physical Education Building, room 233.  Come dressed for commencement.  Guests should proceed directly to Moody Coliseum.

The Alumni Association is hosting a reception in honor of graduates and their families.  The reception will be held in the Bob Hunter Welcome Center immediately following the commencement ceremony.

There will be a Graduation Fair in the Campus Center Living Room on November 3 from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.



Caps, Gowns, and Hoods
Regalia for Master's candidates may be purchased from the ACU Bookstore for $60.  Regalia for Doctoral candidates may be purchased for $160.  The cap, gown, and hood are yours to keep with this purchase. 

 

Pick up times in the Bookstore are Tuesday, December 8 - Friday, December 11 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  If you are unable to pick up your regalia during these hours, please contact the ACU Bookstore (325-674-2524) by December 8 to make other arrangements.  The Bookstore will be available for exchanges only on Friday, December 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Remember:  Check your regalia for tassel and hood color before coming to the rehearsal.

Invitations/Announcements
Announcements and invitations may be ordered through the ACU Bookstore at the Graduation Fair.  Orders should be placed at least two weeks prior to commencement to allow time for mailing.To place your order, contact the ACU Bookstore, (325) 674-2524.

 

 


Pronunciation of Names
The correct pronunciation of your name is important.  We will go over the correct pronunciation of everyone's name during rehearsal.

 

 


Photographs
A professional photographer will take a picture as each candidate is on stage and a posed portrait after the diploma march.  Proofs and order information will be mailed after graduation.

 

 


Transcripts, Diplomas, and Degree Posting

Transcripts
Financial accounts must be cleared prior to graduation in order for transcripts to be released.  Contact Student Financial Services to arrange your exit interview.  Also check to be sure that all requirements have been met and the degree has been posted before ordering a transcript indicating an earned degree.

 

Diplomas Diplomas will be mailed within two months following commencement.  The Graduate School must certify that all graduation requirements have been met before diplomas are ordered.

Degree Posting:  Degrees are posted upon completion of all requirements.  All grades must be posted and completed theses must be turned in to the Graduate School before your degree will be posted.

*If your address changes after graduation, it is your responsibility to notify the Graduate School Office!
