Welcome to ACU!
The First Year Program is here to guide you through your first year at college.
What is The First-Year Program?
It's the first year of college life - both inside and outside of class.
Welcome Weekend - Jan. 11-12, 2008
Spring orientation for new Spring students and their parents.
Passport - June 22-24, 2008 or Aug. 17-19, 2008
Our summer orientation is for new students. Parents are welcome, too! You'll meet fellow students and professors, complete placement testing, receive academic advising and finalize your fall schedule.
Welcome Week - Aug. 19-23, 2008
Just before school starts, you'll experience new friendships, intramural sports, our traditional Candlelight Devotional and much more.
University Seminar
All freshmen take University 100. This class is designed to answer questions about college and make the transition as smooth as possible.
Learning Communities
As a freshman student you have the opportunity to enroll in a Learning Community, a set of one-to-three thematically linked courses, which you take with your classmates.
Essays written by freshmen in the Honors Program and broadcasted on KACU-FM, our Abilene-area NPR station, and on iTunesU.
