At Passport, upperclassmen, faculty and staff will help students construct a rewarding itinerary for the fall semester.
Frequently Asked Questions:
We have special sessions designed to introduce parents and family members to ACU, as well as assist them in preparing for the challenges and changes as a result of a student's enrollment in a university. Parents often have many questions regarding their student's new experiences, and sessions are designed to offer answers in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. While some sessions will be student/parent sessions, others will run concurrent to the student sessions.
It is important that parents plan to attend these parent-only sessions. Parents attending in years past have found their sessions to be informative and helpful.
Academic AdvisingAdvising is a central component of your ACU experience, because it promotes the achievement of your educational and personal goals. At Passport, you'll learn about the core curriculum and specific majors. If you aren't sure about your major, you'll have the opportunity to begin exploring your options by attending academic department meetings of your choice and participating in a Discovery Workshop. Every student will receive comprehensive advising through both department and individual advising sessions.
On Tuesday morning, freshmen will meet one-on-one with their academic advisor to finalize their fall schedule. Please plan to be on campus until noon on Tuesday.
Student Immunization FormA completed Student Immunization Form with record of immunization for Meningitis, MMR, and Tetanus as well as a completed TB screening questionaire is required and should be submitted by July 15 to the Medical Clinic. The health record form will be available through the ACU Medical Clinic. Failure to submit a completed health record will result in the student being dropped from all registered classes and will prevent registration for classes until the Form is received.
Students with DisabilitiesThe orientation fee of $115 covers both Passport and Welcome Week programs. This fee includes Passport meals from Monday lunch through Tuesday breakfast. It also covers all program costs and materials for students and parents. Students do not need to send in any money; the orientation fee is a one-time charge added to each new student's account. All new students are required to attend Passport and Welcome Week.
