Carlos Sepulveda, Interstate Battery's Executive Vice President, joined ACU's College of Business today as part of the Distinguished Speakers Series. Sepulveda received a B.B.A. with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1979. He was certified as a CPA in 1981. He had 10 years of experience with KPMG Peat Marwick accounting firm in Austin, New York City and San Francisco before joining Interstate Battery System of America, Inc. He is one of two executive vice presidents for Interstate, a $650 million privately held company with international operations based in Dallas. Since 1999 Sepulveda has overseen marketing, retail franchise, eCommerce, national accounts sales, information technology, accounting, financial services, and legal. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Executives Institute.
Sepulveda spent the day with College of Business students in the classroom setting as well as one-on-one mentoring sessions. Sepulveda also spoke at lunch to a group of Abilene community members as well.
