Silicon Valley Fall Break


The Griggs Center and iSchool partner to lead a student trip to Silicon Valley during fall break. Students have the opportunity to visit a number of start-up and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs and enjoy a free day in San Francisco

About the Trip

This is a great opportunity for students interested in technology and/or entrepreneurship to visit the #1 city in the U.S. for tech start-ups. Students have the chance to visit with a number of companies, entrepreneurs, and ACU friends and alumni who live and work in the area. Previous trips have visited Google, Silicon Valley Bank and a number of start-up technology companies. Following a fun two days in Silicon Valley, students have the opportunity to enjoy a free day in the San Francisco area.

Information about the next trip, including dates, program fee, potential course credit, and more will be announced no later than in the spring of 2014.

Each spring, the Griggs Center hosts a mini-business plan competition with the goal of providing aspiring entrepreneurs at ACU and in Abilene and the surrounding West Texas region an opportunity to get their business up and running with significant cash and in-kind prizes.
