Griggs Center's Scholarship Program

Each academic year, the Griggs Center chooses a select group of students who have demonstrated an interest in entrepreneurship and potential for future success. Students are eligible for this designation in the spring semester of their second full year at ACU. At this time, the program is only available to students pursuing a major in the College of Business Administration.

What are the benefits of the program?

Each student fellow will receive the following benefits

  • Scholarship of $500 - $1,000
  • Voucher of $500 for any Griggs Center study abroad program or domestic trip
  • Opportunity to attend special sessions with guest entrepreneurs throughout the year
  • Priority in registering for entrepreneurship courses

We anticipate alumni mentoring opportunities also being a part of the fellows program but the official launch date of this benefit is unknown at this time.

How are students selected for the program?

A committee of Griggs Center faculty and staff members will review all applications. In considering the applications, the committee will consider the following criteria:

  • Interest in entrepreneurship
  • Financial need (including other scholarship awards received)
  • Academic performance
  • Pursuit of the Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy concentration
  • Involvement in Griggs Center student programs (e.g., Springboard, CEO, Entrepreneur Speaker Series, Wildcat Ventures)
  • Entrepreneurial activity to date

Please note that while the committee will recommend scholarship amounts for individual students accepted into the program, appropriate university officials will have final approval.

When is a decision made? When will I receive the scholarship and program voucher?

Students will be selected as fellows in the spring semester of each year. 

All scholarship awards will be a one-time award paid out in two equal installments during the following academic year. For example, if you are selected to the fellows program in the spring of 2014, you will receive $500 in each of the fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters. Because the scholarships are a one-time award, fellows will receive the scholarship benefit during their junior year but not their senior year.

Program vouchers are available for students to use immediately after being designated as a fellow through graduation.

How can I apply? When is the deadline?

If you are interested in applying for the fellows program, you will need to fill out a brief online application no later than Wednesday, February 18th by 5:00 pm.
