Upon completion of all the requirements for a B.B.A. in the College of Business Administration at Abilene Christian University, students will achieve the following educational objectives in the areas of competence, character and community.
COMPETENCE - Students will:
appreciate the broad scope of perspectives on business activity, including theological, political, economic, social, legal, regulatory and environmental issues;
communicate effectively through speaking and writing;
understand the contribution of each major functional area of business and how to effectively integrate these areas in a successful organization;
develop basic skills in using information technology;
use quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills to solve business problems;
recognize the global nature of the business environment.
CHARACTER - Students will:
consider the ethical, societal and spiritual/biblical dimensions of making business and professional decisions;
demonstrate good stewardship of the individual talents and resources they have been entrusted with by God;
appreciate the need for business organizations to be good stewards of their resources;
seek life-long growth as an individual (i.e.; spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and socially).
COMMUNITY - Students will:
exercise effective interpersonal skills as a member of a team, business or professional organization;
demonstrate initiative, confidence and leadership in business and/or professional organizations;
value the culturally diverse business environment;
participate as members and leaders in local churches and other community-based organizations.
