Starting with a staff of two, Holt built a regional real estate service firm around institutional owners such as TA Associates Reality, Principal Global Investors, INVESCO Reality Advisors, TIAA-CREF, Cobalt Realty, Sun Life Assurance of Canada and Sarofim Realty Advisors.
As the HLC service platform has expanded, Holt has led the firm into the investment arena through development and acquisitions of property in the markets they serve. The firm's market reconnaissance and on the ground professionals are the key assets to inform sound underwriting and execution on the investments made. This model has facilitated the development or acquisition of over four million square feet of product since 2003.
In addition to his commercial real estate business, Holt is the Founder and Chairman of Liberty Capital Bank, an Addison, Texas based banking institution, founded in 2007. Other affiliated companies include City Park Construction and Global Fulfillment Solutions.
Holt is a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School, Tuck School of Business of Dartmouth and McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, teaching cases in the Harvard curriculum called "Holt Lunsford Commercial, Inc. and Shady Trail".
He feels giving back of time and treasure to the community is vital and serves on The Real Estate Council, the Board of the Dallas Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP), the Board of Abilene Christian University, and the Executie Council of The Real Estate Finance and Investment Center at the University of Texas.
Holt has been associated with various non-profits serving the community with organizations such as Rays of Hope, Dallas Leadership Foundation, Dolphin Heights Neighborhood Association, ChristianWorks for Children, Cornerstone Ministries and Coaches Outreach.
Holt is a graduate of Abilene Christian University. He resides in Dallas with his wife and three sons.
