Teaching kids with disabilities can be frustrating, especially for Bible class volunteers who lack training, but thanks to education professionals at ACU, help is available.
Do you have the heart to work with children often considered by society as "the least of these"? All teaching is a form of ministry, but we believe special education teachers have a distinctive call to serve this sometimes overlooked population.
We've learned these children do best when their needs are addressed on all fronts: at school, at home and in the faith community. At ACU, we will prepare you to educate and support these students and their families - not only in the classroom but in all contexts of their lives.
Students interested in special education can certify in all levels (age 3 through grade 12), or a special education supplement can be added to any other certification.
