The mission of ACU's Department of Teacher Education is to prepare exemplary, committed educators for service in diverse and multicultural communities for the glory of God.
That is a mission we take seriously.
We believe the active integration of our Christian faith with learning and teaching is essential to our mission as Christian educators. Our faith extends to the belief that all children can learn and that each child should be valued and cherished.
We believe good teaching should include reflective practice, an inviting attitude, high expectations and a belief that all students can meet those expectations.
We believe all classrooms should reflect a sense of order, purpose, enjoyment and celebration.
We believe teaching is a ministry. Teachers are missionaries serving children and families in the name of Jesus.
At ACU, you will find a teacher education program that prepares you for the highest levels of excellence in your profession. But, more than that, you will be prepared to make a difference in the lives you touch.
We focus on getting you ready to meet all of the challenges and opportunities in the field of education, and doing it in the context of Christian values and principles. Our graduates become educators who make a difference in their communities and in the lives of their students.
