Urban Studies
What is it: Urban Studies is a section of the School of Social Work, that collaborates with social service agencies/organizations, focusing predominantly in the west central Texas area. When first created, Urban Studies was designed to address the needs of community agencies who lacked the appropriate resources (time, personnel, money, and/or expertise) to address various service gaps. Today, it continues to uphold these same principles, yet has expanded to include research and experiential learning for students.
