Why I'm at ACU: When I first spent time on the campus as a 15 year old Kadesh camper, I could imagine myself walking through the Campus Center for a break in between classes and for lunch in the Bean. Even in my imagination, it just seemed right, and it has proven to be so.
Why I'm a social work major: I originally wanted to be a counselor. When I heard about the broad scope of the social work profession, I realized that this department could broaden my knowledge base to include a large range of helping skills that would open numerous career options.
On small classes: The small group size is very conducive to cooperative learning, and it has enhanced my ability to process the information.
On the department: I think that the leaders of the department have a great vision for
the future of the program and they are taking practical steps to lead the students and
faculty into their new vision.
On my professors: My professors are very approachable and they have practical experience that
enhances their knowledge of the field. They are accessible and interested in me not only as a
student, but also as a person.
