How do I know if something is Fair Trade Certified?

Official fair trade organizations must be recognized by either Fairtrade Labeling Organizations International (FLO) or the International Fair Trade Association (IFAT)

What do I look for?
Here are just a few organizations' labels (this is not an exhaustive list):

FLO mark
Fairtrade Certification Mark (FLO label)
International Fair Trade Association (IFAT)
International Fair Trade Association (IFAT label)
Equal Exchange
Equal Exchange sells fair trade foods
TransFair logo
TransFair USA is the FLO-recognized US certifier and the most common label in US stores
Rainforest Alliance
The Rainforest Alliance is not certified by FLO or IFAT, but their products can be found in Abilene. More info from FLO >>

Ten-thousand Villages is a founding member of IFAT and sells exclusively fair trade products

Brew.net is a locally owned Abilene coffee cafe that offers free Internet access. It opened in October, 2008, and is located at 1638 Highway 351 in the strip center in front of Wal-Mart. They serve Fair Trade coffee.
