Hogg Foundation Bilingual Scholarship
Award Amount
For the 2009–2010 school
year, the foundation offered up to $44,000 in scholarship funds at each
of the 11 eligible Texas graduate social work programs. The schools must use
the scholarship funds to cover full tuition and fees for graduate
student recipients.
Actual funds awarded by the foundation each year may vary depending on
the number of students receiving the scholarships at each graduate
school. Scholarships may be available for the spring and/or fall
semesters depending on the school or program.
Eligibility
Scholarship recipients must
attend one of 11 Texas graduate social work programs that are
accredited or in candidacy for accreditation by the national
Council on
Social Work Education.
Recipients also must be fluent in Spanish and English and commit to
work in Texas after graduation providing mental health services for a
period equal to the timeframe of the scholarship.
Hogg Scholarship Program at ACU
The ACU
MSSW Program has received funding for two Hogg Foundation Bilingual
Scholarships. The awards will cover full tuition and fees.
Applications will be accepted until June 1, 2009, for the 2009-10
academic year. Applicants must be admitted to the ACU MSSW Program and
should submit a resume and expression of interest to Dr. Paul Ammons, School of Social Work Director. Applicants will be screened for
language and cultural proficiency
